SUMMARY:Paddle or Hike Lowell Lake State Park\, Londonderry
DESCRIPTION:This can be a leisurely paddle\, a walk around the lake or a combination\, which will be decided closer to the date. Lowell Lake offers a varied shoreline\, islands (including one with picnic tables)\, grassy areas with picnic tables and some marshy areas. The 3.5 mile Lake Trail circles the lake using a footpath\, snowmobile trail\, multi-use path and town road. The trail is relatively flat\, and parts can be shared with bicycles and horses. We may even get to take a swim. Dogs must be leashed in the park. Masks and vaccination required for carpooling

DESCRIPTION:Depending on the weather\, we will hike\, snowshoe or ski from the Nature Conservancy Buckner Preserve trailhead at the Galick Farm across used and unused farm fields and through a little woods to a farm site overlooking Lake Champlain. We’ll walk down to a little cemetery near the shore\, where some of the Chapmans are buried. It was rediscovered in a honeysuckle thicket by the preserve caretakers a couple years ago and restored by the Vt. Old Cemeteries Association in 2021. 4 miles round trip\, with a total 400’ climb.
